Fans love new Arsenal ace after 'great' debut helps follow Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe path

Arsenal's promising starlet Charlie Patino has made an immediate impact, earning himself a new chant that has gone down well with supporters across the country.

The 18-year-old joined Blackpool on loan this summer to earn his first taste of senior football and has already become a favourite for his new side.

The youngster had been at the club's youth academy since 2015 before being promoted to the U18 side in 2019. A rapid rise for the young midfielder has seen him play up the age groups with appearances for the U21 and U23 sides.

His move to Blackpool now gives him a chance to test himself in a physical league. Manager Michael Appleton was just as happy as the new fans with the player, describing his debut performance in a 2-0 loss to Stoke City as 'great' despite playing just 20 minutes.

The 46-year-old also said, "He takes yards off people sometimes with his ability to get away from people. I thought he was great. "I thought he showed a calmness. He showed an old head on very, very young shoulders, and I enjoyed watching him.

"I think the Blackpool fans over the coming season are going to enjoy watching him."

It wasn't the result that had Blackpool fans loving their new player, though. It was the creative new chant that gained recognition. Being sung in the stands at the Bet365 stadium, the lyrics are:

"He's Charlie Patino. He knew the place to go, although he'd never seen the boys in Tangerine. He felt it everywhere, he breathed in the sea air, and then he said to me, I hate Preston North End"

Sung to the tune of You're not alone by Micheal Jackson, Patino's new side are on to a winner, and they could be in for a fun time on the west coast as the youngster has plans to emulate Bukayo Saka.

He has previously said, "He's two years older than me, and I'm working my hardest to try and follow in his footsteps. That's the pathway I want to take at Arsenal."
