Fans in stitches at I'm A Celebrity's Shaun Ryder and Andy Whyment's 'real-life' chat

Fans were left in stitches during Thursday night's episode of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa when Shaun Ryder and Andy Whyment were left speechless at each other.

In the recent episode of the all-star series, singer Shaun and actor Andy discovered they had far more in common than it initially seemed.

The pair of public figures were discussing their Manchester roots, and it turns out they followed the exact same route to fame reports the Daily Star.

When Whymant, who plays Kirk Sutherland in Coronation Street asked the Happy Mondays star where he lived, it revealed that they both attended the same primary and high school.

Whyment laughed: "The mad thing is, we live not far from each other, and the first time we’ve met is in the jungle."

But despite their blossoming friendship in the South African jungle, Ryder quickly messed up and referred to his new pal as Corrie alter ego, Kirk.

Talking candidly in the Bush Telegraph, Whyment said: "We went to the same primary school, same high school - what a top guy he is. Then he called me Kirk."

One fan said: "Andy is exactly like Kirk in real life love it."

Another added: "Andy is exactly like Kirk in real life love it."

And a third praised the duo: "these lads need to stay for sure ...best lads ever."

The episode also saw iconic jungle figures, Georgia Toffolo and Myleene Klass, and fans were delighted.
