It's a sad week in soap-land, as long-running Australian soap, Neighbours, is coming to an end after nearly four decades on screen. Several stars from the show's past will be making a reappearance on the show, including that of Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue. Jason and Kylie played characters Scott and Charlene during the 1980s and have returned for Neighbours' finale. Warning: there are spoilers ahead for Neighbours' final episode.
Following the announcement that they'd be returning, viewers expressed their excitement at seeing them set foot on Ramsay Street again. Despite this, The Mirror reports that fans outside of the UK have now shared their disappointment as they felt that the pair didn't have enough words to say during the final episode. Neighbours is set to air its final episode in the UK on Friday, July 29.
As they arrived on the street, Especially for You - their duet as Kylie and Jason - was heard playing on the radio. And when they stopped and pulled up, they remarked on all the For Sale signs in Ramsay Street. Declaring that they were home, Scott leaned in to kiss Charlene on the head in a sweet moment. "Wow wow wow," Scott said as they stepped out of the car, "This is crazy. We made it eh?" Charlene then declares: "Home sweet home."

After watching their reappearance, fans took to social media to share their thoughts. One person said: "Not Chanel 10 hyping up Margot Robbie and Kylie Minogue’s return in #Neighbours when they only had a 2.3 second cameo," one fan wrote online, as a second added: "Big non-speaking role for Kylie #Neighbours"
Elsewhere, someone commented: "Four words? Only four lousy words? Kylie would be NOTHING without #Neighbours but she's apparently too precious now to use her voice on the show that made her, the most iconic show on TV, in its last episode after 37yrs. Disappointing."
One person even went as far as describing the two actors as "too precious" for the soap. They wrote: "Things seemed to be shoved into one episode with insufficient build on storyline. I guess Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan were WAY too precious to join in a street party. Up on the balcony."
In a similar vein, someone wrote: "It seemed a wasted opportunity to get Kylie and Jason back and then have them not do or say much." They did, however, add: "Maybe less is more? The entrance was certainly top shelf."
However, others heralded the duo for coming back and admitted the scene made them "emotional".
"Why do I feel emotional seeing Jason and Kylie, when I only started watching #Neighbours 4 weeks ago?" one wrote, as a second added: "God love, Kylie & Jason for doing this. #AllTheFeels #Neighbours #NeighboursFinal."
Neighbours airs its final episode in the UK on Channel 5 on Friday, July 29 at 9pm. It will be followed by a special programme, Neighbours Made Me a Star: From Ramsay St to Hollywood at 10.05pm and Neighbours: All the Pop Hits & More, Especially For You at 11.35pm.
