All About That Bass singer, Meghan Trainor, has teased a snippet of her new song with an exclusive YouTube Short launch event. The song, Mother, is set to be the lead single for the deluxe version of her fifth studio album.
Trainor's album Takin' It Back was released in October 2022 but the deluxe version is set to drop this month, much to the excitement of fans.
The short clip of Mother contains the lyrics: "I am your mother, you listen to me," but fans have quickly dubbed the song as "the worst" - despite not even hearing the full song.

Takin' It Back deluxe will be released on March 10, 2023, six months after the original release with four extra songs on top of the original 16.
However, her teasing of lead single Mother has not gone to plan as it was instantly slated online for being "soulless" and "uninspired". The lyrics include: "Stop all that mansplainin', no one's listening/ Tell me who gave you the permission to speak/ I am your mother/ You listen to me."
One fan joked: "More evidence for my theory that Meghan Trainor is a girlboss psyop." while another tweeted: "Does anyone know Meghan Trainor? Did I make her angry or something? Why is she doing this?"
"That is maybe maybe actually no definitely the worst song I have ever heard in my life please give up Meghan Trainor," said a third.
Someone else added: "It is legitimately impressive how, no matter what has happened or how much time has passed, you can depend on Meghan Trainor to make the most soulless, uninspired, boring, and migraine inducing drivel you've ever heard."
"Mother" has become a common phrase in the LGBTQ+ community, referring to someone who acts as a motherly figure to people in the community, regardless of their gender. Icons like Sarah Michelle Geller, Jennifer Coolidge and Lady Gaga are all commonly called "mother".
This prompted some fans to joke about Trainor's interaction with the LGBTQ+ community, with one saying: "Meghan Trainor is literally uniting the LGBTQ community by releasing bad music. Now that's allyship."
Another user joked: "Meghan Trainor's songwriters after finding out a new word that gay people use."
The No singer is an outspoken ally of the community and is known for her close friendship with TikToker Chris Olsen, an out and proud gay man.
Some fans did defend Trainor's new song, saying: "Meghan Trainor/her marketing team are geniuses. The new song is cringe but it's algorithm bait 100% AND now she's benefiting from everyone hating on it.
"She may not be going for a Grammy but baby she is laughing all the way to the bank."
Another added: "Meghan Trainor is on her own extreme otherworldly level of camp that people simply don't get and aren't ready for yet."
