Social media videos posted minutes before Liam Payne’s death have come to light, following news that the One Direction star tragically passed away after falling from a balcony.
The singer was reported to have died on Thursday in Argentina after he fell from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, according to TMZ. The publication heard from several witnesses who claimed to have seen Payne — who was holidaying in the country — falling from the balcony at around 5pm local time.
It’s not yet known whether the fall was an accident and authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Payne’s death.
Amid the fallout of the tragic news, fans have discovered the Snapchat videos Payne uploaded less than an hour before his passing, including one picture taken with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, who accompanied him on the trip.
The series of Snapchat clips and videos shows what looks to be Payne’s hotel accommodation, accompanied by the caption: “Happy I got some time away”.
Other posts show Payne enjoying a late breakfast in his hotel room, deciding on what costume to wear for Halloween, and mentioning how he and Cassidy had been “waking up at 1pm every day” while vacationing.
Meanwhile, Snapchat videos of Payne’s final moments see him chatting with his girlfriend and making plans to ride horses later that day. “Lovely day in Argentina,” one of the video captions read.
While she appears in some of the footage, Daily Mail reports that Cassidy returned home from the holiday on October 14, with Payne subsequently checking himself into the Casa Sur Hotel where he later fell.
This has led some fans to suggest that while the videos were uploaded under an hour before Payne’s death, they may have been recorded at an earlier time.
It comes as TMZ continues to receive widespread backlash for publishing photos of the late singer’s body after his fall. We also learned that two weeks prior to his death, Payne had flown to Argentina to reconcile with fellow One Direction alum, Niall Horan.
Tributes have flown in for Payne in the hours since his death, with celebrities Charlie Puth, Ty Dolla $ign, Paris Hilton and Zedd among those to commemorate the musician on social media.
