Comedian Kevin McGahern is the latest celebrity to leave Dancing With The Stars after a tense dance-off on Sunday night, missing out on a place in the final.
With McGahern’s exit on this evening's show, Brooke Scullion, Carl Mullan, Suzanne Jackson, and Damian McGinty now move on to the grand finale on Sunday next week.
McGahern and his partner Laura Nolan were the first couple up on the night, gaining 27 points, nine from each judge, for their contemporary version of a Charleston, performed to Cotton Eye Joe by Rednex. Irish national ballroom and show dance champion John Nolan also joined the pair for their dance, which had a Three Little Pigs theme.

The then pair danced again following the break when all five couples returned to compete against each other in a Dance Marathon for the first time. The marathon had a Hansel and Gretel theme with the dancers shaking it to I Want Candy.
One by one the couples were asked to leave the dance floor, with Kevin and Laura being the first couple to be asked to leave, gaining them one extra point. This was not enough to get them through to the final, however, missing out on a spot with the other contestants in next week’s finale.
Speaking after hearing the news that he would be exiting the show, McGahern said: I'm delighted to go out on a dance that I thought we danced well.”
Dance partner Nolan added: “Thanks for you all your patience, getting to know you over the last couple of weeks has been amazing. I've made a best friend for life.”
Fans were disappointed with the news, with one posting: “Very sad to see Kevin and Laura go. On the brightside we get her back a week early though.”
Another added: “Kevin McGahern should not have gone this week. Will miss your laid-back droll comments, Kevin!”
While one more posted: “I don’t think Kevin McGahern should have been in the dance-off. That was a terrific Charleston.”
