Fans were quick to praise 'gentleman' Ken Doherty after his appearance on the Tommy Tiernan Show.
The Ranelagh man, 53, discussed his 1997 World Championship victory and his life on and off the baize on the chat show.
Telling of needing to stand on a biscuit tin when first playing at Jason's Snooker Club, Doherty also told of his adoration for Alex Higgins growing up and their eventual friendship.

Doherty separated from his wife Sarah last year and has moved to England to spend more time with their son Christian - and he talked about his close bond with his son.
The Dubliner, who still plays at a professional level as well as commentating on the sport, drew plenty of praise from social media.
One person said: "What a gentleman Ken Doherty is and such a hearty laugh."
Another said: "Ken Doherty. Take a bow. Such a gentleman."
While someone else commented: "Ken Doherty a real nice guy."
Similarly, another person wrote: "I’d like to age like Ken Doherty, he’s looks the very same now as he did years ago. He seems a lovely guy."
