A frightening scene unfolded early in Friday’s Red Sox-Phillies game in Philadelphia after a fan required medical assistance following a fall into the visitors bullpen.
The incident occurred shortly after the game began around 7:05 p.m. ET during Phillies outfielder Masataka Yoshida’s first at-bat in the top of the first inning. Suddenly, members of Philadelphia’s medical staff rushed to the opposing bullpen inside Citizens Bank Park to treat a fan who unexpectedly tumbled into the area, resulting in a stoppage that lasted approximately 10 minutes, per Masslive.com.
After receiving treatment for several minutes, the fan was stretchered away from the bullpen as the play would eventually resume at 7:19 p.m.
