Fan favourites McFly and Steps to headline Party at the Park in Perth

Fan favourites McFly and Steps have been announced as star headliners for Perth’s brand new music festival this summer.

After three years of planning, Party at the Park will finally land in the Fair City’s South Inch on the weekend of June 18-19, 2022.

With T in the Park, held at Strathallan Castle, shutting up shop in 2016, Perthshire will once again play host to a major music event with around 50 performers expected over the two-day festival of music and comedy.

McFly, with 22 Top 20 hit singles including seven number one singles, are sure to shine a light on adoring crowds as they headline on Saturday, June 18.

That positive chain reaction will be felt through to Sunday as headliners Steps will perform to celebrate 25 years since their debut album Step One.

With the full line-up still to be announced, there is a strong Scottish contingent with Be Charlotte, Tide Lines and Callum Beattie also appearing on the main stage.

Even closer to home, The Twa Tams stage will feature the very best in local talent.

It comes as a huge boost to festival-goers after organisers were forced to pull the plug last summer due to a “lack of communication and guidance from [the] Scottish Government”.

Around 18,000 music and comedy fans had been expected to attend the inaugural Party at the Park on the South Inch from August 20 to 22, 2021 to enjoy bands like the Kaiser Chiefs and The Charlatans.

But now the event will finally make its star-studded debut.

Event director Peter Ferguson added: “We were so disappointed that we were not able to get the event on last year however we are determined to come back bigger and better in 2022.”
