A dad has been told his six-year-old daughter "won't be the same" in a few months time after being diagnosed with a rare disease that means she is unlikely to live beyond the age of 13.
Darren Landry, from Netherton, said his daughter Isla "started life like any other child" and before the age of three was progressing like any other child, reported the Liverpool Echo.
But the 40-year-old said that when Isla went to nursery, staff noticed that her speech was not developing properly.
