A family in St Ann's have been left stunned after a huge tree fell and narrowly missed their home amid strong winds.
The tree came crashing down in Furze Gardens on Saturday, January 29, as Storm Malik lashes the country.
The Met Office says the weather this weekend will be "very windy, with gusts 40-50mph, strongest for northern areas."
It is understood the tree was uprooted just after midday.
Ali Hassan, who lives in Furze Gardens, told Nottinghamshire Live: "I did not hear anything. I was just chilling downstairs and my sister said to me; 'look out the window'.
"I joked to her and said; 'has the tree fallen down', and I looked outside and it had.
"Someone could have been underneath. I was about to go out to the shop."
Storm Malik will soon be superseded by another storm, called Corrie.
A woman in Scotland has been killed by a falling tree during the storm.
Fortunately the tree which was uprooted in St Ann's narrowly missed houses and vehicles as it toppled to the ground.
Another resident, who asked to remain anonymous, added: "It's just a bit crazy.
"It is a very quiet street. I heard it falling. That is the main thing, that we are all safe."
It is understood Nottinghamshire Police and Nottingham City Council has been contacted about the incident.
