A family of eight were left terrified as they spotted a Spanish fighter jet from the window of their easyJet plane after a young holidaymaker reportedly made bomb threats on board. Video footage shows the aircraft being escorted by a Spanish Airforce F18 fighter plane before it could reach Menorca.
Joe Brownell, 35, and his 32-year-old partner Lucy from Eastbourne in Sussex, were planning to visit Spain to celebrate grandad Roy's 70th birthday. The family made it through Gatwick smoothly and thought they could finally relax as their celebrations got underway, reports The Mirror.
We were coming into descent before we noticed anything when the F18 team joined us on our right wing, pretty much hugging it to be completely honest," Joe told the Mirror. "The descent was probably about half an hour in total, the captain spoke to us once or twice throughout, appearing very aloof, I suppose just to keep us aware. He said nothing's happening, we're not sure what they're doing, they're not responding etc."
