A family has slammed a Stockport pub claiming its kid's burger was "like an ice hockey" puck in a review posted online.
The Bamford Arms, a Beefeater pub on Buxton Road in Stockport, was the subject of a Facebook review, which also claimed the eatery has become "progressively worse" with the customer telling others "not to bother" visiting.
The review, which was shared on a Stockport food reviews page garnered a lot of attention, with others heading to the comments to share their opinions too. Some also agreed with claims and said they would not be returning, though some jumped to the pub's defence praising the food and service.

The post shared on Facebook read: "Just been to the Bamford Arms…My advice, don’t bother!!! Given it so many chances but it gets worse each time.
“Food not good, the service got worse once we complained. 5 of us were eating, only one of us had a good meal. The kid's burgers was like an ice hockey puck on a bun.
“This place has progressively been getting worse over time and I will not be giving it another chance, for the price you pay there you expect good food but that’s not the case here.”
The reviewer added that they did get a discount after voicing their concerns, but said it did not "make up for bad food and iffy service" and that they "would not recommend it to anyone.”
The pub and restaurant, which describes itself as a "friendly steakhouse" five minutes from Stockport town centre, serves up a range of grilled meats and "international favourites" including fajitas, does fare better on review platform Tripadvisor, where it has a four out of five star rating and 795 reviews, with the majority either rated as excellent or very good.
One recent review reads: "We have been to the Bamford Arms on many occasions but most often for Sunday Lunch. The Staff are always friendly and Helpful (especially Laura and Naomi) and the food is excellent." Another posted in the last few weeks reads: "Food was really nice, wine was good and the service was exceptional. Would recommend and come again."
However, reviews appear to be mixed and comments on the recent post shared on Facebook post claimed that there are issues with the food and service. One person commented: “The place is awful I’ve complained the last few times I’ve been there and the last time I wasn’t even eating just the just the service was awful.
"The gentleman behind the bar huffed at me swore under his breath because I complained my coffee was cold. It’s a horrid place place, there is only one girl that works there that’s lovely."
Another person added: "A group of friends went there for xmas meal and they said the exact same thing both food and service was terrible. Which is surprising as it used to be good years ago but I’ve not been for about 3 years, a real shame.”
A third customer said they had "never had any issues" when ordering breakfast at the pub and restaurant, but when dining for what they called a "proper meal" they claimed it was "dire". They added: "They don’t seem to know how to cook a steak, always either cremated or still mooing. Drinks take forever to arrive, portions are tiny for what the price is. Half the items on the menu aren’t available."
While another person in the comments backed up the claims about the steaks, writing, "last time we went in there our steak was so over cooked we asked if they had taken in to the crematorium to cook it", another family defended the pub.
They wrote: “We had breakfast there this morning and it was great, food was cooked beautifully and the waitress (think it was Naomi) couldn’t have been better, at one point she even offered to keep our daughters entertained so we could eat in peace."
A spokesperson for Whitbread plc, which owns Beefeater, commented: "We wouldn’t generally be able to comment on individual anonymous claims made on social media.
"In general teams, our team strive to provide a warm welcome for all our guests and a great dining experience. In the rare event of any issues we would encourage them to report them to the team at the time and they will be happy to address them.
"The Bamford Arms is rated 4 stars on TripAdvisor and is within the top 10% of establishments in Stockport."
