VISAKHAPATNAM: A family in Eluru town in Andhra Pradesh served a royal feast that included 379 food items to their son-in-law on the occasion of the Makara Sankranti festival. The pictures of the grand feast have now gone viral. The number of food items is the highest that a family served their son-in-law in recent years.
It is recalled that a family from Narsapuram in the undivided West Godavari district served 365 different types of food items to their future son-in-law on the Sankranti festival last year. Treating or pampering son-in-law is considered an integral part of Indian households during festivals. Treating son-in-law by throwing a grand feast on the Sankranti (Pedda Panduga) festival has become part of households in Andhra for the past few years though they have been practicing the same tradition for decades together.
Godavari districts are considered to be best in preparing food items in both Telugu states. The son-in-law Buddha Muralidhar from Anakapalli town near Visakhapatnam wished to become a son-in-law to a family of Godavari districts. The Architect never expected that he would become the son-in-law of these districts.
