The heartbroken family of a woman shot dead in the doorway of her own home say they believe she was the victim of a 'revenge attack'. Jackie Rutter, a grandma of five, was shot in the chest at her Meadowbrook Road home, in Moreton, in the early hours of Sunday morning (October 30).
Police say they believe the attack to be 'targeted' and are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward. Her daughter's partner told the ECHO they believe the 'one in a million' gran who 'wouldn't hurt a fly' was targeted deliberately by gangland thugs who had made threats towards her and her family for weeks.
Merseyside Police investigating the shooting said they would not comment directly on the family's claims, but that a 'number of lines of enquiry' were being pursued, and that the attack was being treated as targeted.
