A Burton Joyce-based artist who was a 'familiar face' to hundreds of art students across Nottinghamshire has died at the age of 71. Peter Millward was an art teacher, artist and also a long-standing scout leader at the Scouts Association in Nottingham.
There will be a memorial event at St Helen's Church, in Church Road in Burton Joyce, to on Saturday, October 29, between 12pm to 4pm. A selection of Peter's works will be exhibited including his Chinese brush paintings, oil paintings, and watercolours as well as artefacts from Peter’s life.
Those wishing to pay their respects are encouraged to take some of Peter's art literature from his vast collection. It is hoped that the books will inspire and also benefit those who are developing their own artistic practice.
