A family run local shop in Co Tyrone is celebrating 50 years in business this week at the heart of a rural community.
The Vivo Essentials store in Donemana held a celebration this week of five decades since its doors were first opened by Jackie and Jean McGarrigle.
Their daughter Wendy and her husband David took over the running of the shop 10 years ago and have continued the tradition of being a focal point for the local community in the village.

“They first started the business with a small cabin and a petrol pump," Wendy said of her parents.
“They moved on to a bigger size cabin and then eventually a shop, before moving down the street to where we are now.
“They expanded over the years and then dad retired ten years ago when me and my husband took over, although we have always been involved with the business over the years.
“We are very much a focal point for the community here and we have tried to continue that over the years.
“It’s your local community who support you and you know them by name, know them by their families growing up.
“You try to make it as welcoming a place as it can be for people coming in through the door."
While Jean has sadly since passed away, Wendy added that Jackie still keeps a watchful eye over the shop from time to time.
“Dad is still here and it’s great for him to see the 50 years, he’ll be in 75 this year and was just 24 when he opened the shop," she said.
“He’s still a very active, fit man and still comes down and keeps us in check. It’s been a privilege to take up the reins for what they started off.”
To commemorate the significant milestone, the store held an event on Monday 29 May for shoppers with an instore fun day.
“We’re so proud that our family store has been serving our Donemana community for 50 years," Wendy said.
"My parents created an inviting store in which shoppers are known by name and receive a warm welcome every time they shop, so it was important for myself and David to carry this on.
“We want to thank our brilliant team for their dedication and hard work and a big thank you to our shoppers. We love serving this community and look forward to many more years doing so”.
