Family of murdered man have 'waited long enough for justice'

A young man had "so much more life to live", his heart-broken loved ones say as they fight for justice almost five years on.

Adam Ellison, 29, was walking home from the pub with friends in the early hours of November 4, 2017, when they encountered a gang of thugs in a pedestrianised area in Market Place, Prescot. An altercation occurred after a motorbike nearly crashed into them, and one of two men on a green and white Kawasaki KX 85 Big Wheel off-road bike lashed out with an unknown weapon causing devastating injuries to Adam's neck.

Adam was rushed to hospital where he sadly died from his injuries. Despite numerous media appeals from Merseyside Police and Adam's family, a BBC documentary about the case and a £24,000 reward for information, no-one has yet been charged over the killing.

Adam's family have never stopped fighting for justice, creating the ADAM Foundation in his memory. The foundation campaigns against knife crime across Merseyside and supports community initiatives in the Prescot area. The ECHO has previously reported how the family spoke out about being trapped in a "nightmare".

Now, five years on from his brutal death, his loved ones have urged people to "speak up" and tell the truth. Posting on social media they wrote: "Tell the truth. Speak up or eventually someone will tell it for you. All we want is justice for Adam. For all that he has lost and his family too living a life without him justice need’s to come.

"He had so much more to give in this world and so much more life to live, places to see, adventures to go on and memories to make, a legacy of his own gone in a flash. This individual needs to be named and charged…people out there know who did this.

"The truth doesn’t cost anything, but lies could cost you everything. Withholding vital information and protecting a murderer is involving yourself in more ways than one so do the right thing. It’s nearly 5 year’s without Adam and we have waited long enough for justice."

It was previously reported how young drug dealers in Huyton linked to multiple eruptions of violence figured as part of the investigation into the unsolved murder. An insight into part of the investigation was revealed as part of a Multi-Agency Learning Review, commissioned by Knowsley Safeguarding Children Partnership (KSCP), into a teenage boy given the alias 'Child Sam'.
