Family of missing Scots woman 'concerned' for her wellbeing as police continue search

The family of a missing Scots woman who vanished yesterday say they are 'worried' for her wellbeing.

Elizabeth Cooper was last seen near to Castlehill Road in Wishaw, according to Police Scotland, at 1.30pm on Wednesday, September 21. The 44-year-old has not been seen or heard from since, prompting concerns for her welfare.

Elizabeth is described as being around 5ft 9in tall and of a medium build. She has long, brown hair and was last seen wearing a black coloured long-sleeved blouse with red and pink designs on it, light blue jeans, brown boots and carrying a turquoise handbag.

Officers from Police Scotland are carrying out extensive inquiries in the local area, including examination of CCTV footage.

Sergeant Michael Anderson has said: "We are concerned for Elizabeth's welfare. No one has heard from her since Wednesday afternoon.

"The family are understandably very worried and only want to know she is safe and well. I would ask that anyone with information as to her whereabouts to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 2619 of 21st September 2022."
