Family of London endurance cyclist who died from heatstroke earn six figure sum from insurers

The family of a London endurance cyclist who died from heat stroke and dehydration after taking part in an amateur cycling race in France have reached a six-figure settlement with the insurers of the event.

Barry 'Baz' Covington, from Penge, collapsed while competing in the 155km UCI Gran Fondo Amateur World Championships which took place in Albi, Languedoc in the south of France in August 2017. He passed away in hospital a week later.
