Family Halloween events at Dobbies Ayr as kids can make monster plant pots

An afternoon of spine-chilling family-friendly fun is promised for youngsters and adults alike across Ayrshire this Halloween.

Little Scare-lings, which takes place at Dobbies’ Ayr store next week from Thursday, October 27 to Sunday, October 30, is a spooktacular way to get ready for the Halloween festivities with certified scarers, terrifying treats, and petrifying planting activities on the bill.

Kids up to the age of 10 are encouraged to come dressed in their most terrifying costume where their scare-factor will be put to the test.

Children will have the chance to perfect their scare tactics, showcase their monster strut in a group parade, and take part in making their very own monster plant pot to take home.

Each child will be awarded with their very own scare certificate at the end of the session.

As well as activities, there’s the chance to enjoy some tasty treats, including fish fingers and tomato pasta with gluten free and vegetarian options also available. Children will also receive a Halloween decorated cupcake.

And it’s not just the youngsters who can enjoy a feast as adults can tuck into Dobbies’ ever-popular Afternoon Tea, with a selection of finger sandwiches, mini cakes and baked slices, freshly-made scones with jam and clotted cream and the option of a pot of tea or small coffee.

There’s also the option of a cake and drink ticket for those looking for a sweet treat.

Sarah Murray, partnership and events manager at Dobbies, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming families across Ayr to our Halloween event.

“Taking inspiration from our popular Little Seedlings programme, Little Scare-lings gives children the chance to join in some fantastically-spooky fun.”

Tickets (£8.99 for kids and £6.99 for adults) are available at dobbies.com, and booking is encouraged to avoid disappointment.

Activities are aimed at children aged 3 -10, but under 3 can participate with adult supervision.
