A family had to wait three months to bury their loved one after he was stabbed to death.
Adam Ellison was walking home from the pub with friends in the early hours of November 4, 2017, when they encountered a gang of thugs in a pedestrianised area in Market Place, Prescot. An altercation occurred after a motorbike nearly crashed into them.
One of two men on a green and white Kawasaki KX 85 Big Wheel off-road bike lashed out with an unknown weapon causing devastating injuries to Adam's neck. The 29-year-old was rushed to hospital but later died from his injuries.

Merseyside Police are still hunting for Adam's killer despite numerous media appeals, a BBC documentary and a £24,000 reward for information. Following Adam's murder, his family set up the ADAM Foundation in his memory.
It campaigns against knife crime across Merseyside and supports community initiatives in the Prescot area. The foundation posted a heartbreaking statement on Facebook which said a week today was a "raw reminder" for the family of their loss.
They said it will soon be five years since Adam's funeral and they had to wait 12 weeks before laying him to rest.
Part of the statement said: "They felt every emotion you can imagine but at the same time bewildered as to how and why Adam was murdered. Still to this day, when you sit there and think of Adam even if it’s a memory you either smile for a moment or laugh but then suddenly tears fill your eyes, that lump in your throat which begins to hurt because you realise what has happened and that this is real, this really did happen to him."
Adam's family said "it doesn’t get any easier as times goes on" especially because they are still fighting for justice for Adam.
Addressing Adam's killer in the statement, the family said: "There is so much hurt, devastation and disbelief which will always be with us for the rest of our lives. Adam’s family feel like they are living with a life sentence by having to live a life without him.
"The only person who should be serving a life sentence is his murderer, his family have and are going through enough but yet are made to suffer longer than they have to because people are continuing to let his murderer walk free."
