Family feared the worst when pet dog stopped asking for food

A mum knew something wasn’t quite right with her family dog when the pooch stopped asking for food and her mood changed.

After the family noticed that she wasn't her "happy-go-lucky self", spaniel Ivy-Blu was taken to the vet and diagnosed with severe anaemia, which was causing her body to attack its own blood cells.

Just before Christmas, the family was told by vets at Beech House Veterinary Centre in Warrington, that the situation was critical and Ivy-Blu required a blood transfusion.
