Families rave over heated airer that costs 6p an hour to run

As we are all well aware, the cost of living has reached an all time high and with households struggling to pay their soaring energy bills, many are looking at what changes they can make at home to keep those costs down.

Drying washing can be a constant battle especially if it's not quite sunny enough to hang outside, but not cold enough to justify popping the heating on.

For anyone hoping to cut laundry time in half and save on the cost of energy, families have been raving about this heated drying rack from Lakeland that costs just 6p an hour to run - now if that’s not impressive, we don’t know what is!

A heated rack is also much cheaper than using a tumble dryer too which normally costs on average 20.06p to run.

The extensive range of heating airers have racked up hundreds of five star reviews with shoppers saying they are ‘worth any penny’ and they ‘wouldn’t live without it.’

One impressed shopper said: “I purchased this as a replacement for my tumble dryer, to cut back on electricity costs. I use it with the cover on and I can fit a full load of washing on and it dries overnight, also cuts back on having to iron my clothes too! Folds away for easy storage too.”

A second agreed, commenting: “I really love this airer. I have always used a tumble dryer in the past and with the recent electricity rises I knew I needed to make a change and this has made it extremely easy.

There is plenty of space for a full wash to hang comfortably and is easy to put up, and folds away easily and neatly when not in use. The tumble dryer has now gone for good.”

Lakeland’s heated airers range in price and size, with the cheapest and smallest starting at £119.99, with the largest deluxe option costing £179.99.

There are also covers which you can buy separately to place over the top of the airer to help lock the heat inside which shoppers recommend, however others said they simply put a large sheet over it and it does the same job.
