A four-year-old boy killed with his mum and her friend in a horror car crash on a country road in Worcestershire have been named. Keegan Fettis, his mum Gemma Hobbins, 32, and her pal Cody Smith, 28, died instantly in the smash last Wednesday night, May 10.
They were in a blue Ford Focus travelling towards Kidderminster at 10.15pm when they collided with a black Audi A7 coming the other way. A silver Volkswagen Golf and a black Vauxhall Vectra, which have been recovered by police, are also believed to have been involved in the fatal crash.
The tragic incident happened outside the Duke William Pub in Callow Hill on the A456. Despite attempts by emergency crews to save the victims, they all died at the scene.
All three came from the Kidderminster and Stourport area nearby. Police say Gemma’s family have been left “completely devastated” by the tragedy.
In a statement, West Mercia Police said: “Gemma’s family said they wanted to thank the emergency services and those that tried to help. They said she was much loved by all the family.
“About Keegan, they said they were completely devastated, struggled to find any words to express their grief but they are completely devastated. Cody’s family said she will be missed so much by all who loved her including her father, sister, nieces and nephews along with all the rest of the family. They said she was the life of the party.”
A woman and two children who were in the Audi were taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with minor injuries. Three men aged 31, 25, 18 and a boy aged 17 were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and have since been bailed.
