Families bagging bargain holidays at Butlins, Parkdean and Haven from £2.56 a night

With Christmas and New Year out of the way, many Brits like to take January as an opportunity to make plans that will give them something to look forward to over the next 12 months. And what better than a family trip to the seaside at one of the UKs affordable holiday resorts?

Cheap and cheerful, the likes of Butlins, Parkdean and Haven have all launched huge sales for January, offering families cut-price short breaks to blow away the cobwebs.

One mum even managed to get an extra discount which took the price of her stay down to nearly £2.50 per person.

We've scoured the web for trips a short drive from Manchester, trying to find the best prices for a four night stay for four people, and there are some brilliant deals for those who might not be able to afford a big break abroad this year.

Here are some of the top deals we found.

Parkdean Resorts - £4.31 per person

Parkdean Resorts have launched their ‘ Mega January sale ’ offering thousands of holidays from £79 and under, which will help friends and family alike plan their 2023 UK holiday trips with some big savings.

Recent research by Parkdean Resorts has revealed that British holidaymakers are wanting to stay in the UK for their 2023 getaway with 305,000 people searching for ‘UK holidays’ specifically in the last month alone.

The resort is offering 15,000 UK wide breaks for £79 and under, but those looking to take advantage of the sale will have to be quick, as it ends tomorrow, January 4.

The cheap holidays include three and four night short breaks, and upon searching, we found a four night stay at Regent Bay Holiday Park in Lancashire for two adults and two kids for just £69, working out at £4.31 per person, per night.

The destination choice is endless, too, with fairly local breaks in Wales and Preson, or further afield in Devon, the Isle of Wight and Scotland to name but a few.

You can view all of the Parkdean Resort offers on their website here.

Haven - £3.06 per person

Popular holiday haunt Haven has 38 parks around the coast of England, Wales and Southern Scotland, welcoming around three million guests each year from March to November. This year, visitors can grab a 2023 break for less than £50 in Lincolnshire , or under £60 in Wales.

Haven says the cheapest holidays are those that are midweek, particularly off-peak seasons, such as early spring and autumn, with early spring breaks offering the best prices. It’s best to avoid school holidays and take the whole family with you, because ‘the more you are, the less you pay’.

If you're in need of an escape, then these £49 holidays work out at £3.06 per person, per night, based on four people staying at Golden Sands for four nights from October 9 to 13. The same holiday in September would be £105, so it’s a huge saving if you’re flexible with when you can travel,

Plus, if you see your 2023 holiday at a lower price later on, Haven will even give you the difference back as part of their price promise.

Butlins - £2.56 per person

With the cost-of-living crisis and inflation continuing to make planning trips away difficult for lots of people, Butlins holiday camps can be a great option. While the rooms may be simple, they are located on great coastal spots and have plenty of activities for kids and adults, all at the fraction of the cost of a holiday abroad.

The resort currently has some great savings on family breaks starting at £49, but one savvy mum managed to get hers down to £41, the Mirror reports.

Dawn Lewis was looking for a place to stay with her partner and child in November 2023. She opted for four nights at the Butlin's holiday camp in Skegness, Lincolnshire, which would usually cost £89 for one double and one twin room. The keen couponer managed to secure an extra £48 off thanks in part to a January promotion, bringing the total price for the stay down to £41.

With the potential to sleep four guests, this would make the room £2.56 per person, per night.

Butlins’ Showtime Midweek breaks are perfect for all ages, offering West End-quality shows, singing along to smash hits in Jukebox Musicals and their own Goldilocks and the Three Bears panto.

At the moment, guests can book January 30 to February 3 a Minehead for £49, which includes a silver room and endless entertainment.
