Families abandon three food types as cost of living soars

Families are giving up Sunday roasts, cakes and biscuits as the impact of soaring inflation starts to hit the dinner table.

Nearly 20% of people are no longer using their ovens in a bid to save money amid the rising cost of living, reported MyLondon.

Rising grocery and energy bills have forced families to change their cooking and eating habits, with a quarter of people who cook saying they are less likely to make a Sunday roast, the Good Food Survey reveals. More than 2,000 adults and 1,007 children were interviewed for the survey, with a fifth saying they are not making as many baked goods, and around 20% saying they are buying less alcohol and red meat.
