Fallen trees hit houses, crush cars, block roads, snap power lines and cause chaos in Storm Eunice

Fallen trees wreaked havoc in Wales as winds of up to 88mph ripped across the hardest-hit areas of the nation.

Parts of Wales were placed under a "rare" red alert between 7am and 12pm on Friday as the storm hit. Thousands of homes were left without power and the storm has caused extensive damage with roofs torn off buildings.

The red warning indicates a "significant danger to life", and covered the south Wales coast between Swansea and Chepstow, as well as parts of southwest England.
