Back in 2020, Fall Guys quickly became an indie darling. Hype for the charming multiplayer bounce ’em up led to Epic Games buying developer Mediatonic and eventual free-to-play version.
However, since the launch of Fall Guys: Free For All last month, there’s been several glaring issues. Most notably, a glitch that automatically purchases items for real money that players don’t want. It’s been going on for more than a week, and fans are utterly furious — there was even a massive Reddit thread with dozens of examples from users experiencing this bug. Check out the video below to see the problem in action.
This new shop is a joke, was checking out some items and it literally auto purchased this faceplate I will never use. At least have a confirm button or something. Not even a cancel purchase button? My controller does not have any issues with stuck buttons or double pressing when not intended. from FallGuysGame
Worse yet, Reddit user ChunkyPeat shared an alleged email from Mediatonic claiming they would not receive a refund (thanks, VGC). Many other players apparently received similar replies, which obviously didn’t go over well with the community. Thankfully, Mediatonic is addressing the store’s technical hiccups.
“What is happening in the game is not intended and we are actively fixing it,” Mediatonic said in a statement to GLHF. “The customer service response was also not acceptable and we will offer a make good for all affected.”
On Friday, Mediatonic also publicly acknowledged the store glitches.
“We heard your feedback on accidental purchases, and we’re sorry,” Mediatonic said on Twitter. “We’re improving the store design to prevent this. All refund requests for cosmetics from [June 21, 2022] will be honored until we improve the store.”
We heard your feedback on accidental purchases – and we're sorry!

It’s a messy situation, but at least the studio is acknowledging that something went wrong.
