Fall 2026 did not produce one universally dominant coat, bag or shoe. Instead, some of the season's most influential collections emphasized something less immediate but potentially more useful: clothes designed to function as a wardrobe.
W Magazine described the approach as "wardrobe dressing," highlighting Alaïa, Celine, Loro Piana and Ralph Lauren among the labels presenting pieces that could be mixed, layered and incorporated into everyday closets. Prada reinforced the idea by using its runway format to demonstrate how an outfit could transform throughout the day.
