A speed camera has been installed on a busy Falkirk road dubbed a "speeding hotspot" by those those who live there.
Residents on Camelon Road, which runs between the town centre and Camelon, say it's much welcomed and they hope that it'll reduce the amount of dangerous driving.
The camera is situated near the Park Hotel.
A number of motorists have been stopped by traffic cops in recent week for travelling well over the the limit.
A man who lives nearby said: "This has been a long time coming. A lot of us on this road have asked both Falkirk Council and Police Scotland for cameras to be installed.
"But they told us that no enough drivers were being stopped to have enforcement cameras.
"Cars are stopped near enough daily on this road for speeding. And I'm talking at dangerous speeds.
"It happens more so at night.
"You can hear the boy racers with their load exhausts flying up and down the road.
"I've witnessed races taking place during the early hours.
"I think I speak for everyone who lives on Camelon Road when I say this. But it's only a matter of time before a life was lost. And hopefully this camera will save that life."
A Falkirk Council spokesperson said: "It is a positive move as this is a road where there is evidence we have been supplied with by Safety Cameras Scotland that identifies up to 70% of all vehicles are exceeding the speed limit.
"Collision data also shows that this is an area that would benefit from the introduction of this type of camera.
"Excess speed also discourages active travel along this route and we hope that this also can be addressed.
"The camera will ‘cover’ both directions and we hope that this will have a positive influence on driver behaviour."
