Councillors in Falkirk will be asked to agree to move the traditional May bank holiday to celebrate the coronation of King Charles, rather than give staff an additional day off.
The plan to swap the traditional public holiday on May 1 for the following week will be put to members of Falkirk Council's executive next Tuesday.
While the Scottish Government has confirmed there will be an additional bank holiday on Monday May 8 to recognise the coronation on Saturday May 6, it will be up to individual councils to make and fund their own arrangements.
