Fifteen new councillors will be among those taking take their place when Falkirk Council meets for the first time since the local government elections on May 5.
Top of the agenda for the meeting at 10 am next Wednesday (May 25) will be the appointment of a Provost and a council leader.
It is understood that talks are still ongoing between parties about who will form the next administration as no-one has an outright majority.
The SNP remains the largest party with 12 councillors; the Labour group returns to nine members; and the Conservative group now has five, a reduction in numbers by two.

Independents Billy Buchanan and Robert Spears were also re-elected and they are joined by two familiar faces, Bo'ness councillor Ann Ritchie - formerly the SNP depute provost, now Independent - and Councillor Brian McCabe, a former Independent who reclaimed a seat in Denny and Banknock.
Chief Executive Kenneth Lawrie said: “The recent election saw 15 new councillors elected out of a total of 30. In the period since then, the new elected members have been involved in an intensive induction programme.
"These have been held in a very positive and collaborative spirit and it has been very encouraging to the excellent engagement in these early sessions, which will continue in the coming weeks."
The meeting on May 25 will also appoint members to various council committees and external organisations, including the Integrated Joint Board, which oversees health and social care and the NHS Forth Valley board.
For the first time, the council will also appoint various champions.
In addition to the role of older persons' champion, they will also be looking to appoint an equalities and human rights champion; a veterans' champion; and a young person's champion.
