The Falcons are in East Rutherford, New Jersey battling the Jets on ESPN’s Monday night football. Early on, Atlanta’s offense has hit some big plays, including a near touchdown on the first offensive play of the game.

It didn’t take long for Mariota and Pitts to make a connection as the offense picked up 52 yards on a catch and run by Pitts. While the offense did move to within scoring range, they Falcons failed to punch it in and settled for a field goal.

The Falcons further built their lead with a touchdown pass from Mariota to Zaccheaus. This drive was aided by a 39-yard pickup from TE Anthony Firkser to set up the score. There has been a lot to like to about Mariota’s performance thus far.

Jared Bernhardt is turning heads this preseason, and while his backstory makes him easy to root for, Bernhardt has been producing all throughout training camp. He has a legit chance to make the roster. In the above play, Bernhardt catches a 34-yard pass from rookie QB Desmond Ridder.
