The Atlanta Falcons suffered a significant injury just two days before the 2023 NFL trade deadline. Grady Jarrett tore his ACL during Sunday’s loss to the Titans, ending his season and leaving a big hole to fill along the team’s defensive line.
While the Falcons have said they will explore all possibilities in regard to replacing Jarrett, fans are hoping the team will swing a trade for a defensive lineman before Tuesday’s trade deadline.
Here’s how Falcons Twitter reacted to Jarrett’s injury news.
Falcons HC Arthur Smith on the trade deadline & whether Grady Jarrett's injury changes things:
"It's our job to listen to everything, whether Grady was healthy or not."

ATL really should make a move for an EDGE at the deadline now.

Montez Sweat would be a huge/needed addition to the Falcons' defense and well worth draft pick compensation. The edge rusher has 35.5 sacks in 67 career starts. Just turned 27. Atlanta native. On an expiring contract. https://t.co/LbMLA9FWtn

What hurts the most is that we wasted Grady Jarrett’s prime with ineptitude. The man deserved to win, and his loyalty has not been repaid.

If I’m Fontenot, I’m on the phone right now offering a 2nd for Sweat.

Grady Jarrett is so tough, he tore his ACL yesterday and you'd have never even known that it happened. He didn't even stay down to be treated on the field, and he walked to the locker room after.
Guy is the heartbeat of what the team wants to be about.

There are 8 teams in the NFL that have over $9M of cap room to use at the trade deadline.
49ers- $39.9M
Browns- $33.9M
Bengals- $11M
Cardinals- $10.7M
Titans- $10.6M
Bears- $9.4M
Raiders- $9.2M
Chargers- $9MThere are 11 teams that are between $5M and $9M

This is crushing. There is no replacing what Grady brings to this team https://t.co/ABswOC5EPl

The way Grady got hurt yesterday was so freakish, it seemed so subtle. No one rolled up on his leg or anything. Going back and looking at it just makes you scratch your head. I hope fam has a speedy recovery.

Now that I got that out of the way, I need Terry Fontenot to cook. Also, I’m a fan of Fontenot. I was indifferent to Arthur Smith’s hiring from the beginning, but I was willing to give him a shot. Honestly, he can go. I won’t shed one single tear lol

a lot of people lied to themselves, saying if Ridder didn’t work out that, that’s fine with them; they’ll just hit reset again and get a new QB, and now everyone is pouting at the idea of it

The Falcons seem to be indicating they’ll go back to Desmond Ridder next week, but we don't know for sure just yet.
