The Atlanta Falcons appear to be throwing their hat in the Deshaun Watson trade sweepstakes. It doesn’t appear to just be smoke, either, as NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Falcons are set to meet with Watson on Wednesday.

Watson is meeting with the Browns Tuesday, and reportedly met with the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers on Monday.
Team owner Arthur Blank was already fond of the Gainesville, Georgia native from when he worked as a Falcons ball boy. The Falcons restructured Matt Ryan’s contract last week, but there is some wiggle room the team gave itself by adding three voided years.
It still seems a bit far fetched for Atlanta to pull off this kind of blockbuster trade, but it’s unlikely the team would meet with him if it wasn’t serious about a potential trade.
