The Atlanta Falcons released safety Jaylinn Hawkins from their 53-man roster on Tuesday, per ESPN’s Michael Rothstein. Hawkins, 26, was drafted by the Falcons in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft out of Cal.
Hawkins started 16 games for Atlanta last season but lost his spot in the starting lineup after the team signed safety Jessie Bates III in free agency.

Hawkins appeared in 48 games over the last four seasons, with 22 total starts. He finishes his Falcons career with 124 total tackles, nine passes defended, and four interceptions.
