The Atlanta Falcons continue to clear the decks ahead of the NFL’s official start of free agency on Wednesday.
After reportedly restructuring Matt Ryan’s contract and extending left tackle Jake Matthews, the Falcons have released veteran defensive lineman Tyeler Davison.

Davison, 29, had a cap hit of nearly $5 million this season, and his release should free up roughly $3.69 million in cap space for the Falcons, per Over The Cap‘s projections.
We don’t know the exact savings of Matthews’ extension, but Atlanta had approximately $16.1 million in cap space prior to cutting Davison.
The Falcons are losing two free agents as both Russell Gage and Foye Oluokun have agreed to sign elsewhere. Gage is heading to Tampa Bay and Oluokun was part of the Jaguars’ free-agent spending frenzy on Monday.
On the bright side, the Falcons have given a five-year extension to kicker Younghoe Koo. The team also placed a tender on wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus on Tuesday.
