In July of 2022, the Atlanta Falcons signed defensive tackle Eddie Goldman in a move that would have bolstered a thin defensive line. However, less than two weeks after agreeing to terms with the Falcons, Goldman abruptly retired.
This led to some trolling on the part of Atlanta’s rivals, including Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan. However, it appears Goldman just needed some time to warm up to the idea. The 29-year-old defensive veteran has been reinstated by the Falcons, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Falcons reinstate DL Eddie Goldman from the reserve/retired list.
That's interesting.

Goldman has started 73 of 81 games since entering the league in 2015 as a second-round pick out of Florida State. During his seven-year NFL career — spent entirely with the Chicago Bears — Goldman racked up 175 combined tackles, 13 sacks and 21 QB hits.
The Falcons have already added defensive tackle David Onyemata in free agency and have Grady Jarrett under contract through 2025.
