Darby, 26, was drafted by Atlanta in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL draft out of Arizona State. He appeared in 15 games over the last two seasons for the Falcons, but he didn’t make the team’s 53-man roster out of training camp this year.
Hesse was another surprise cut at the roster deadline. He later landed on the practice squad and was elevated for one game this season.
