The rumors were true. The Atlanta Falcons have interviewed former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, the team announced on Monday evening.
It was the Falcons’ sixth official interview for their head coach vacancy and the first that Belichick has taken since he and the Patriots parted ways last week.
This is Belichick’s first interview since he and the #Patriots parted ways last week. An intriguing fit with an owner who wants to win right now. https://t.co/HudqaCnIob

Belichick compiled an overall record of 302-165 over 29 seasons in the NFL, winning six Super Bowls. However, New England has not had as much success since quarterback Tom Brady departed in 2020.
The Patriots have gone 29-38 over the last four seasons before Belichick and team owner Robert Kraft mutually agreed to part ways once the 2023 season ended.
The Falcons have previously interviewed Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, 49ers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, Ravens DL coach Anthony Weaver, Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, and Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald.
