Falcons injury report: Latest updates on Darnell Mooney, Kirk Cousins

On Thursday, the Atlanta Falcons wrapped up their second day of practice ahead of this weekend’s matchup against the Denver Broncos. Both teams are coming off close losses in Week 10 and will look to bounce back in Week 11.

After listing 16 players on their estimated Wednesday injury report, that number jumped to 18 at Thursday’s practice. Wide receiver Darnell Mooney was limited due to an Achilles injury. Quarterback Kirk Cousins was a full participant after being limited on Wednesday.

Six players sat out on Thursday, including cornerback Dee Alford, linebacker James Smith-Williams and defensive lineman Ta’Quon Graham.

Kirk Cousins injury update:

Cousins was limited on Wednesday with injuries to his right shoulder and elbow but was a full participant at Thursday’s practice. It doesn’t appear the veteran quarterback’s status is in jeopardy for Week 11.

Darnell Mooney injury update:

Mooney was added to the injury report on Thursday with an Achilles injury. While Mooney’s addition is somewhat concerning, he was still a limited participant in practice. If Mooney can’t play this weekend, look for Ray-Ray McCloud and KhaDarel Hodge to fill in.

Tyler Allgeier injury update:

Allgeier was limited at Wednesday’s practice but returned on Thursday and was a full participant. The third-year running back doesn’t appear to be in danger of missing Week 11.

The Falcons take on the Broncos this Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET in Denver. Despite having the better overall record, Atlanta is a 2.5-point underdog entering Week 11.
