After days of speculating that former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick would end up with the Atlanta Falcons, the answer shockingly revealed that not to be the case.
The Falcons are reportedly hiring former Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris as their new head coach, while Belichick remains without a coaching job.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news on Thursday.
The Falcons interviewed Belichick twice, but they ultimately went with Morris instead of the six-time Super Bowl-winning coach. There’s now a real possibility that Belichick ends up without a coaching job in 2024. The Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders are the only job openings left, and both teams are deep in the interview process with candidates.

Belichick only interviewed for the Falcons job, which could leave him on the outside looking in at this point. It’s pretty surreal that the greatest coach of all time might not have a job next season.
If nothing materializes, his next decision could be either retirement or taking a year off and going through the interview process with another team in 2025.
