The Atlanta Falcons improved to 8-7 on the season after Sunday’s 34-7 win over the New York Giants. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. made his first NFL start and aside from a few drops, it couldn’t have gone much better for the rookie.
Penix completed 18 of 27 pass attempts for 202 passing yards and an interception. Atlanta’s defense finished with three sacks, two interceptions (both returned for touchdowns) and seven points allowed.
Linebacker Matthew Judon had a sack and a pick-six to lead the defense while running back Bijan Robinson totaled 100 all-purpose yards for and two touchdowns in Sunday’s win.

Darnell Mooney led the team with 82 receiving yards while Drake London finished second with five catches for 59 yards. The Falcons will face off against Dan Quinn and the Washington Commanders in Week 17.
