Scotland's first 'adults only' fairground games experience opens its doors in Glasgow today.
Fayre Play has been created by the team behind the city's popular crazy golf course, Fore Play. They have been hard at work transforming their Glasgow site into this fresh new concept.
As well as competitive fairground games which you can play against pals, guests will be able to enjoy themed cocktails and street food.
Some of the games come with a distinctly Scottish twang, including a Scots take on whack-a-mole; 'Cannae Whack It', as well as 'Skee-Baw' and 'Bulls Aye'.
There are some funfair themed drinks such as a Clown Star Martini, the Merry Go Rum and the Roll up, Roll up Mocktail.
As for food, here are some of the new menu items that guests can tuck into:
- The Strongman - Two 4oz British beef, grilled bacon, melted cheddar cheese, homemade burger sauce, pickles, caramelised onion, lettuce, tomato and burger relish. Served in a toasted brioche bun
- The Fire Eater - Buttermilk fried panko chicken breast, house katsu mayo, homemade pickle slaw, gem lettuce and jalapeños. Served in a toasted brioche bun
- The Lion Tamer - Vegan patty, vegan cheese, pickles, tomato, burger relish, lettuce and onion rings. Served in a vegan brioche-style bun.
Craig Neilson, co-owner of Fayre Play and Fore Play Crazy Golf, said: "We were the first to bring the adults only crazy golf concept to Scotland, and we had an amazing five years in Glasgow running Fore Play.
"Now, the venue’s transformation is complete, and we’re buzzing to welcome our fans to our brand new concept, Fayre Play.
"We’ve taken all the best bits from Fore Play and applied them to a competitive fairground games experience, where you can challenge your mates across a whole host of familiar favourites."
On top of a fun day out, guests who are able to make it to the venue for its opening this weekend could pick up exclusive prizes.
Craig added: "We've sorted some very special prizes exclusively for launch weekend too, so if you fancy winning some goodies from the likes of Bee Inspired Clothing, SPT, YayGrls and Empire Glasgow, get yourself along this weekend.
"There’s a whole range of amazing new menu items and epic cocktails to work your way through too. We can’t wait to welcome you."
Fayre Play opens 12pm on Saturday, March 4, 2023 and is located at 124 Portman Street, in the Kinning Park area. Tickets can be booked online.
