Facundo Torres has already explained how he’d fit into the Arsenal team ahead of January transfer talks

Mikel Arteta would be getting a versatile, direct attacker if Arsenal were to sign Facundo Torres in January.

The Orlando City winger has emerged as a transfer target for the Gunners with imminent talks already confirmed by his agent,

Torres is seen as ideal competition for Bukayo Saka, as Standard Sport reported earlier this week, although Reiss Nelson may have something to say about the need for such a player following his weekend heroics against Nottingham Forest.

Earlier this year, the 22-year-old Uruguayan defined his playing style in very similar terms to Saka.

“I’m a forward, an attacking player that likes to play out on the wings,” Torres told MLSsoccer.

“But one of the things I love to do the most is just attacking at goal and going to goal. Inside the box, outside the box, it’s one of those things where I just really love getting towards goal.

“And I’m a player that loves to be on the ball all the time because if I don’t have the ball, I’m waiting for it and I love to be on the attack and affect the game as much as possible on the ball.”
