The case involving the Polish woman who took social media by storm due to her bombshell claims that she is the missing Madeleine McCann has seen a major update from facial analysis experts.
Julia Wendell sparked a storm across the internet recently after she shared what she said was evidence to suggest she might be Madeleine, the Leicestershire girl who went missing during a family holiday to Portugal in 2007 aged three.
The Polish 21-year-old has been appearing on the Instagram of private investigator and self-professed medium Dr Fia Johansson to share updates on her claims.
In the most recent update, a Swiss company that used their facial recognition software for Wendell have disclosed the results of an analysis on the Polish woman.
Wendell has used both facial and bodily similarities, as well as what she claims are ambiguities in her past, to make the claim that she could be the missing daughter of Kate and Gerry McCann, who have not commented on her claims.
Currently, she is awaiting results from three DNA samples and a genetic test after she drew similarities between her face and Madeleine's.
The company Ava-X, however, has disputed these claims by the use of technology that helps police officers identify missing people and unite them with their families.
The company used the technology to compare a picture of a young Julia with one of her today and found a match. However, they did not find a match when they compared the contemporary Julia with a photograph of Madeleine.
Ava-X boss Christian Fehrlin told Blick: "It's practically impossible for the young Pole to be Maddie" adding that he was 90% that Madeleine and Julia are different people.
Currently, Julia is in the US with Dr Johansson where the pair are looking into Julia’s claims.
Dr Johansson, who has regularly been posting updates, has alleged she holds evidence that “shows Julia was definitely trafficked to Poland" and that she is not her parents' biological daughter.
To corroborate this, they have also reportedly sent samples of Julia's DNA for analysis. Julia has also completed a genetic test to establish her ancestry. However, to date, no concrete evidence has been put forward to suggest Julia may be the missing Madeleine.
