Facebook users say they've caught the app analyzing their camera roll with Meta AI⁠ without their knowledge—here's how to make sure it doesn't happen

You might notice eerily familiar AI-generated images in your Story suggestions on the Facebook app lately—because Facebook has been automatically creating AI-generated versions of photos from users' camera rolls.

If you try creating a new Story on Facebook right now, you could get a pop-up asking if you want to "Allow cloud processing to get creative ideas made for you from your camera roll." TechCrunch has screenshots of what this pop-up looks like so you know what to look for.
