Face of football fan Ian Hensworth jailed after cutting friend's throat in 'vicious' attack

This is the man who was sentenced to 22 years behind bars for slashing a woman's throat over an argument about football.

Ian Hensworth, 63, of Hartley Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, was convicted of attempted murder after a jury deliberated for 70 minutes at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday, February 16.

As he was sentenced to the 22 years, of which he will serve two-thirds before he is liable for release, the judge said: "It was a determined and premeditated attempt."
