Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly scrap the 50 per cent sell-on clause in Marcus Edwards' Sporting Lisbon contract as a bargaining chip to sign Pedro Porro from the Portuguese giants.
Having spent big money on the likes of Richarlison and Yves Bissouma during the summer window, Spurs are, again, expected to be busy in January under Antonio Conte.
One potential area in need of strengthening in north London is the right wing-back role. Sitting fourth in the Premier League at Christmas, Conte is currently able to call upon the likes of Emerson Royal, Matt Doherty and Djed Spence in that position.

However, the former has received heavy criticism for his inconsistent displays this season, whilst Doherty and summer arrival Spence appear not to be fully trusted by the former Chelsea and Juventus boss.
According to reports from Portugal, Spurs' hunt for reinforcements has led them to the Jose Alvalade Stadium, where they were defeated 2-0 in UEFA Champions League three months ago, and Porro. football.london understands the 23-year-old is a wide player that the club like.
Portuguese outlet CM Journal state that Tottenham are 'determined' to sign the former Manchester City man and the report claims they have devised a plan to enhance their position in negotiations with Sporting.
When academy graduate Edwards made the move to Portuguese side Vitoria in 2019, Spurs negotiated a 50 per cent sell-on clause into his contract upon future moves and were able to transfer the clause to his new deal.
It is now thought that Tottenham will drop the clause and hope such a move tempts Sporting into parting ways with Porro.
The Spaniard is, also, represented by CAA Base, a major agency with close links to Tottenham. He has provided nine assists during a, somewhat underwhelming, campaign for Ruben Amorim's side as they currently sit fourth in the Primeira Liga.
